Revello, a village at the foot of Mount Bracco, is the gateway to the Valle Po but it is also a treasure chest filled with buildings and valuable works of art, commissioned by the Marquises of Saluzzo and their courtiers.

On the first floor of the ancient Palazzo Comunale is the Cappella Marchionale, decorated with a pictorial cycle created in the first quarter of the 16th century at the behest of Margherita di Foix, wife of Ludovico II. Its depictions include the Stories of Saint Margaret and Saint Louis of France, protectors of the marquises, as well as “a last supper” inspired by the famous Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci.

The Collegiata, built towards the end of the 15th century, is located at the far end of the old town centre. Its marble portal, built based on a design by Lombard Matteo Sanmicheli, the polyptych of Saints Peter and Paul by the Flemish painter Hans Clemer and the “Deposition and the Trinity” created in the fifteenth century by Oddone Pascale are particularly noteworthy.

Near Staffarda, the ancient Romanesque-Gothic abbey founded by the Cistercian monks between 1122 and 1138 in the territory of the ancient Marquisate of Saluzzo has survived. Mysticism meets art in a place with strong historical connotations. Visits to its church, cloister, chapter house and guesthouse are possible.

In the centre of Revello, the Museo Naturalistico del Fiume Po is open to the public. Here, visitors can get close to aspects of the very rich nature that characterizes the Monviso system of protected areas, with a particular focus on the environments surrounding the river.
