The ancient convent complex of San Francesco is a seventeenth-century quadrilateral building, arranged on two floors, located in the heart of Savigliano; since 1970 it has housed the Museo Civico Antonino Olmo, a heterogeneous collection of documentary finds and works of art largely acquired and consolidated thanks to donations from noble families and illustrious Saviglianesi.

Some rooms of the museum can be visited on the ground floor and accessed from the beautiful cloister: the one that illustrates the history of the urban evolution of Savigliano, from the first archaeological finds to today's transformations, is remarkable.

Going upstairs, the large layout is divided into the wide corridors and cells of the convent. The first space is used for the Pensa-Frutteri donation, a family of wealthy bankers and merchants who collected rare and valuable works in the 16th century. The west and north wings, on the other hand, house artefacts from between the 16th and 18th centuries, displaying, in particular, works by the “Saviglianese school”, with wonderful paintings by Molineri, Claret and Carello. In another sector, 19th / 20th century paintings and sculptures are presented, donated by collector Attilio Bonino, while the last corridor is used to house contemporary works of art. Finally, a series of thematic rooms is dedicated to memorabilia and documentary finds related to residents of Savigliano who have brought prestige to the city.

The visit continues in the adjoining convent church, now deconsecrated, where visitors can access the striking, modern layout of the Gipsoteca, entirely dedicated to Turin-born sculptor Davide Calandra. The itinerary, inaugurated in 2002, follows a thematic order that identifies the main subjects developed by the artist: more than one hundred works are presented, including sculptures, casts, sketches, plaster and terracotta models. The work that attracts the most attention is the monumental cast of the frieze for the parliamentary hall of Montecitorio in Rome, about 13 metres long and more than 3 metres high, made by the sculptor between 1908 and 1913.
