The first one is in the heart of Entracque, a village awarded an orange flag by the Touring Club. The voice of a storyteller accompanies the visitor through the rooms of the Centre. Passing through the Tenda delle Favole, the Bicycle Workshop, and the Portrait Gallery, visitors travel through all the myths, fairy tales and legends about the predator and, finally, the room of the Grotto hosts a discussion on the subject of the wolf between hunters, park rangers, breeders, and veterinarians. The moral of this comparison is to show that the animal is neither good nor bad, but simply fulfils the role assigned to it by nature.

In the Casermette di Entracque, an area reachable from the town by taking the “Sulle tracce del lupo” cycle-pedestrian path (2.5 km), visitors reach the second section of the Centre. Its engaging, modern displays explain how the animal arrived in the Alps, how wolf packs are formed and live, their hunting techniques and the fascinating story of Ligabue: the most famous wolf in Italy. Having been knocked down by a car in Emilia, the animal was then treated and released with a tracker collar. This enabled scientists to follow its movements as it went from Emilia to the Maritime Alps. An extraordinary and daring but real journey, the story of which is narrated by the voice of Caterina, photographer and naturalist.

The visit to the Centre ends with the ascent to an observation tower. It stands over a fenced area housing a number of wolves that were found injured and can no longer be reintroduced into nature.

It takes about an hour to visit each of the two sections.
