MALINGRI CASTLE AND PARK - BAGNOLO PIEMONTE

The Castello-Forte (11th century) and the walls still retain their early medieval characteristics, the Castello-Piano (14th century), called Palazzo, surrounded by a park bordered by stone walls, green hedges and centuries-old trees, has always been the residence of the Malingri Counts of Bagnolo. To make the most of any tour of the feudal complex, at least 2 or 3 hours are required.

From the courtyard of the castle, a small door affords visitors access to the park, where they are greeted by an enormous tulip tree, covered in yellow flowers in spring. The overall view of the park, with its magical shadows, lights and colours, is often unexpectedly beautiful. The park extends for about two hectares and is full of trees from 40 to 50 metres tall. At the centre of the grassy area an elliptical stone basin is home to small fish and newts, a long pathway leads to the noble Cappella gentilizia di Ognisanti. The park is located in the Great Italian Gardens circuit.
