CASA PELLICO - SALUZZO

Silvio Pellico’s house is located in the scenic piazzetta dei Mondagli, one of the most evocative corners of the historic centre of Saluzzo. Of medieval origin, it is situated just outside the circle of walls built in 1280, and falls into the category of "museum-houses". On the first floor, a neoclassical-style room stands out for its distinctive colours and shapes, while the ground floor hosts the wheelchair-accessible main hall. Silvio Pellico’s collection, part of which is on display, consists of a varied collection of memorabilia, manuscripts and books, originally donated to the Municipality of Saluzzo by the writer's sister. On the walls of the ground floor, the museum layout hosts an extensive series of front cover reproductions of his work “Le mie prigioni” (My Prisons), published in hundreds of editions, proof of its widespread popularity.
