The full route you will tackle is about 78 km long, with an elevation gain of about 1,380 metres. It is a circular itinerary that starts and ends at the same point, crossing one of the most beautiful and evocative hills in the province of Cuneo. Set off from the town of Saluzzo in the direction of Revello, immediately leaving the provincial road, and taking an easy and quiet country cart track.

You won’t even notice the first 20 km, which are very flat and easy to travel: there will be plenty of time to find the right rhythm in the company of your friends.

At the entrance to the small town of Barge, briefly take the provincial road then immediately leave it again in the centre of the village as you head towards the small Barge hill. A climb with easy slopes awaits you, stretching no more than 4 km, then an equally easy slope leads you to the village of Paesana.

Having exited the village, in the direction of Saluzzo, turn right towards the Pian Muné climb. About 13 km of challenging uphill terrain with an average gradient of 7% leads to the Pian Munè plateau, the most panoramic ski resort in Saluzzo, near Monviso. This ski resort, built in 1980, now hosts a dynamic refuge, which is converting to accommodate bike friendly routes in both summer and winter.

Time to go back! The hard work you put in on the way up is paid back by the fun curves that lead you downhill as you head back towards the gates of Paesana.

Follow the provincial road of the Po Valley to the village of Sanfront, then take a quiet detour through the villages of Gambasca and Martiniana Po before reaching your final destination in the centre of Saluzzo.

The streets and churches of the small towns of Barge, Paesana and Sanfront, boast a history dating back more than one thousand years, and host many small works of art that are definitely worth discovering during a refreshing pit-stop.
