MUSEO DEL FUNGO - BOVES
The Museo del Fungo e delle Scienze Naturali or Museum of Mushrooms and Natural Sciences in Boves is characterised by a wunderkammer or chamber of curiosities-inspired atmosphere. The mushroom, a typical component of the local cuisine, is the main protagonist of its collection, housed in no less than eighteen display cases. The museum also houses interesting sections focusing on the natural sciences (fossils, taxidermy, shells, reptiles, crustaceans and over one hundred and thirty species of butterflies) and others dedicated to the crafting techniques used for exotic fibres, silk and ceramics. The invention corner section is not to be missed.
