A town located at the foot of Mount Bisalta, Boves includes ten hamlets scattered on the slopes of the mountain. One of these is the home of the santuario di Madonna dei Boschi, an important artistic heritage site for the town of Boves. This small church is an artistic treasure for its frescoes from the 1400s, 1500s, 1600s and 1700s, including a series of pictorial cycles on the life of the Virgin Mary, on the Passion of Christ and a Last Judgment, which faithfully reproduces some scenes from the masterpiece of the Sistine Chapel.  

In the hamlet of Fontanelle stands the majestic santuario Regina Pacis, an important centre of devotion to the Virgin Mary. Recently built, it is an eclectic style building with a large dome. The vast garden welcomes the numerous visiting pilgrims and also houses the chapel of the Addolorata, the Lourdes grotto and the war memorial.

The old town of Boves once included the Ricetto, a fortified area that was later demolished. Here stood the ancient Town Hall building, which is currently the seat of the Biblioteca Civica, Scuola di Pace and the Museo della Resistenza. The historic centre is enhanced with a series of ancient stone fountains, including the sixteenth century fountain in piazza dell'Olmo and the fountain in piazza Garibaldi, dating back to about 1700. The town of Boves was awarded gold medals for Military and Civil Valor, keeping alive the memory of the partisan struggle and the two massacres carried out by the German army that in 1943 burned the town twice, killing civilians and partisans.

Outside the town, in a wooded area rich in chestnut groves, stands the Parco Marquet, an ancient farmhouse transformed into the Museo Etnografico ed Ecomuseo della Castagna, a fruit that for many decades has played an important role in the local economy.

In late summer, the city of Boves hosts popular events, such as the Ricetto festival, the Vie di Jazz music festival, the Mestieri in Città, and the Marcia della Pace, while December showcases the Babbo Natale Bovesano in the magical atmosphere of the festive season.
