We are in the extreme south of the western Alps, where the thick woods give way to peaks, and descents to be skied by those looking to relax and have fun. If, on the other hand, you arrive at a high altitude without skis, you can opt for excursions with snowshoes, which have now become a classic: there are many itineraries and they can be covered independently or accompanied by a guide.

Be aware that there is no need to go back down to the valley to find everything you may need for a fantastic holiday. Here you will find accommodation facilities, clubs, cinemas and all kinds of shops. Raschera cheese is one of the most delicious typical gastronomic specialties of the area. Produced in the mountain pastures of the Monregalesi Valleys, it is ripened in a cave in nearby Pamparato, a classic example of a medieval mountain village, as well as a place famous for the production of fragrant biscuits made with corn flour, known as Paste di meliga. Also worth tasting is the local Saracen polenta, washed down, if you like, by a good glass of Dolcetto delle Valli Monregalesi.
