Each historical period featured a different conception of punishment and chose  different criminal policies. The Museum retraces these events, considering them an important episode in the story of an institution that paved the way for modern Western democracies: the disciplinary prison. Exhibits with great emotional impact, supported by archival documentation of impeccable scientific rigor, combine to create an unquestionably striking new museum itinerary set in the ancient isolation cells in the basement of Castille.
