1ST ALPINE REGIMENT MUSEUM - MONDOVÌ

Housed on the third floor of the funicular railway valley station, the small exhibition area traces the history of the 1st Alpine Regiment since its origins in 1882. Through objects, uniforms and vintage photos, it recounts the epic of this department in the two World Wars and beyond, with a focus on the tragic battle of Nowo Postojalowka in 1943, which left 3,475 of the Regiment’s men on Russian soil. A place where the memory of many brave men and of the best-loved military corps, that of the Alpini, lives on.
