MUSEUM OF TIME AND SUNDIALS - BELLINO
They remind those who tell the time of its inexorable passing. But, as the motto painted on the walls of the Romanesque Parrocchiale di San Giacomo warns: “Sans soleil ne dit rien du tout c'est a-dire”, without sun they have nothing to say. Instead, the sundials preserved among the old houses of Bellino have lots to say about the history of this small town in the Saluzzo area which, together with Pontechianale, is the highest municipality in Val Varaita. They can be found along the paths of the town, painted on the walls of private houses or chapels. They are the guardians of popular tradition and wisdom. The recovery work did not begin until 1999, initiated by the Municipality, and carried out with European funds of the local action group of the Valli del Viso.
During the winter season, the museum is open by reservation for groups.
Summer hours: June, July and September open on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In August open daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
