Three statues, depicting Saint Donatus, Faith and Charity, distinguish the solemn sandstone facade of the cathedral that rises in the Piazza district. The last church designed by architect Francesco Gallo, erected from 1743 on the place where the thirteenth-century church of San Francesco stood; after Gallo’s death in 1750, it was continued by other architects and completed in 1763. The interior has a 19th-century pictorial decoration and preserves various works of art.
