The full route is about 30 km long, with an elevation gain of over 1,290 metres. It is an itinerary that we recommend you tackle with a front or full MTB or e-bike as the terrain it features is mostly unpaved and in some parts slightly bumpy.
The route starts from Chiusa di Pesio, from the square where the Town Hall is located, and heads towards the Morté hill. Ride the first few kilometres, crossing the village and taking the state road that leads to the Morté hill on asphalt with slopes that immediately become gradually more pronounced. When you reach the hill, turn right and take the dirt road which leads up to the Olocco pillar.
A magnificent dirt road with a fairly regular surface that crosses centuries-old chestnut woods and reaches the “Pilone dell’Olocco” area after a couple of kilometres of constant ascent.
From here, continue on the dirt path that you will find in front of you, leading to the hamlet of Fuggin. On your right, you will also see an asphalted road that leads directly to the hamlet of Vigna, to be covered on a road or gravel bike. The path continues on a dirt road for a slightly downhill stretch, but is not very bumpy. After a few kilometres, you’ll reach the hamlet of Fiolera, cross it and finish the last stretch of this descent on asphalt until you reach Vigna.
Take the state road and after a few metres turn left, cross the bridge and start climbing towards Pradeboni on the dirt road surrounded by nature. This route features a constant and regular ascent, with no major slopes, and leads you to the Truna from where you keep going until you reach Meschie. A short ride from here will lead you to Tetti Gallina then a long descent will take you to the hamlet of Montefallonio. On the way back to Chiusa di Pesio, after the small bridge, turn right and continue on the dirt road that leads you to the wonderful Frabulasca giant bench.
At the bench, go straight on and take the provincial road towards Chiusa di Pesio. Enter the town centre, where the tour ends. For those who want to, by climbing for a further 10 minutes from the town centre, you can reach the ruins of the Mirabello Castle, which affords a breathtaking, panoramic view of the Cuneo plain.
