Start: Morra del Villar (Villar San Costanzo)

Head west past the entrance to a parish church. Immediately after the church, turn right onto Via Combale. After about thirty meters (100 feet), past a canal, turn left beneath the chapel of Sant’Antonio, which looms above.

Follow Sentiero sul Maira back along a tranquil road that winds through cultivated fields with stunning views of Mount San Bernardo and the bell tower of the Villar San Costanzo parish church, which is the next stop on the itinerary.

After passing a paragliding landing area, the road bends northwest to the village of Pramallè. At a junction (marked by a votive shrine) turn left. Ignoring all the side roads, continue along Via Pramallè until you reach the lovely parish church of San Pietro in Vincoli, an ancient Benedictine abbey, after an area of greenery, which is an excellent spot for a rest.

Once back on the road, take Via Crocetta, the road that runs along the left side of the park.

As this is the most direct route to the village of Morra del Villar, there may be some traffic, but every Sunday from November through May the road is closed to motor vehicles.

Cross a canal and then continue along its left bank. After about three hundred meters (1,000 feet), cross the canal again over two parallel bridges and continue along the road that heads back nearly straight towards the village of Morra.

About halfway there, you will see a cross with a bench on the road back to Morra del Villar, where this easy, enjoyable itinerary comes to an end.
