This high altitude route is one of the most spectacular in the Maritime Alps and is known as the "Mountains of Kings" because it was once part of the hunting reserve of King Vittorio Emanuele II. The itinerary crosses the spectacular Valasco plateau, dominated by an amphitheatre of peaks standing at around 3000 metres, along extraordinary and ancient mule tracks in the Valle Gesso commissioned by generations of the House of Savoy.
