From Pian delle Gorre (paid parking in summer), take the dirt road to the left just before the lodge. This wide road rises gradually along the woods of the Saut valley. A few trails head off in other directions, but keep to the dirt road until you reach a clearing, marked by an information panel. The dirt road ends here, and you will need to take the uphill trail to the left.

From this clearing, you could take a quick detour to the right to admire the Saut Falls (10 minutes, sign). The strategic placement of a number of bridges allows for a short loop to experience the falls in all their beauty.

When you get back to the clearing, take the trail to the left (signs), which rises steeply through the dense forest, which ends suddenly as you come out into the pastureland. Cross a bridge and arrive to the Gias Sottano di Sestrera plateau near a building that is a sort of extension of rifugio Pian delle Gorre and is available for rent (fountain).

The itinerary ends here, so children are free to run and play!
