CHIANALE LAKES
Beyond Casteldelfino, the Varaita Valley reaches a fork. The left fork leads to Sant'Anna di Bellino; the right to Colle dell'Agnello, a well-known, high-altitude pass open to motor vehicles. This second stretch, just a few kilometres past Lake Pontechianale, reaches the enchanting alpine village of Chianale. A vast plateau opens out to the west dotted with stunning alpine lakes that reflect the sun like gems set amongst pastures and rock.
